Any pics of 4x4s with 18" and 20" (only) wheels?

I'd like to get a set of the FX4 Level II Alcoa wheels for my truck. In the event I can't find them or change my mind for some reason, whatever wheels I get, I was thinking of getting a larger diameter rim and still keeping an offroad tire. Basically with less of a sidewall while still keeping the same overall tire diameter. Or maybe a just slightly larger tire, like a 31" or 32". Something like a sporty-offroad look, if that makes sense. Since I have the 16" wheels now, I was thinking of going with a +2 (18") or +4 (20") wheel. I'm not interested in a ghetto look, both in the size of the rim or the style.

So, having said all that, if you have any pics of a Ranger (or even a non-ranger like an F150 or Chevy or something) with a tire/wheel set-up like that, could you post a pic?

Hmm.. as a reference point..

I saw a Yota pickup last night with 22" rims and about 4 inches of rubber showing.

I puked, and laughed, and puked some more.. because the tires actually had mud on them, but the rims were nice and shiny and pretty. Really really was wishing I had my camera with me sadly..

I think, if you do get rims, try not going over the 20" and you should be good.. I personally think an 18 will give you a better look then the 20 perhaps, rubber is good, rim is bad if you do ever decide to take it off the beaten path at any time.

I refuse the idea of going bigger than 20". I can't stand that ghetto look. I'd keep my current wheels for winter use, and if/when I would ever plan on going offroading in advance.

Those are too big for my tastes. The tires definately, and the wheels might be to large for my liking after all. I might have to go with 18's. As far as the tires I'd use, I'd want something small enough to not require lifting my truck in any way.

You have a very sharp truck by the way though. I forgot to mention that. What kind of headlights do you have on that?

thats what i was about to say.. he even has too little rubber for my taste.. then again if you know how i drive and wheel you would understand why...

last night, not the first time, wont be the last i went bombing down a bumpy dirt road at 40+

if you ever plan on seeing dirt i would stick with 16s, maybe even 15s but thats just my taste. big wheels small rubber is a baddddd idea on the trail, if i had 20s i bet i would have already destroyed a few

And I realize that what I'm picturing in my head (overall look) might not be the sizes I originally requested. I'm just thinking that that's what it would be without having pics to verify it, hence the request for the pics. I do appreciate all the posted photos so far and I'd love to see more if anyone has them.

those 37s and 18s look decent. i could run that

if you like the proportion of some of those trucks then you wont get it with 20s and 31s or 32s..
those are all atleast 35s some look like 37s

Got it. If that's the case with what's pictured, I'm thinking what I want will probably be 18's with 31's. Just a guess though. I say that because the size of those tires in the pics above are a little larger than I'd want, and to get them smaller to my liking, 20's would probably leave too little sidewall for me to feel comfortable with in the event of hitting pot holes or something.

That's pretty much it right there, as far as the overall size and proportion of rim to tire. The only difference would be that mine would be off-road style instead of sport style. Thanks for posting that.

On another note, is there such thing as a 31x--x18 tire? I can't seem to find any on tire rack. I'm thinking something along the lines of BFG or Goodyear, but it doesn't have to be that.

I would bump it up to 32s/18s. You can fit 32s stock with no problems.

the tire size i was using for that configuration was a 275/60-18 Metric yes, but close enough to a 31.

I havn't seen any smaller size tire a/ big rim in a standard size....probably gotta go metric.....and they seem to be harder to find in a smaller tire and an 18"....probably alot cheaper going for a 17" rim.

for example...

BFG All Terrains 265/65R18 = 31.6" or 285/65R18 = 32.6"

I'd suggest the 285/65r18 because if you are going for an off road look, them 31s are just too damn small, imo. i'm rockin' 31s right now, and i'm disgusted when looking at my truck. It looks like a street truck.

or...

Throw on a body lift, and run 33x12.50r18's. They look alot more avaliable compaired to 31s w/ 18 rim.

And whats wrong with a street truck???

Cant you change the aspect ratio to a 60 and get a closer fit to the 31"?

I'm not doggin' street trucks. Nick.....i'd totally rock a lowered ranger. Heck, I rock my lowered '71 chevy draggin' the front crossmember. But if he's going for a off road look, oversize tires that fill the wheel well for right in hand for a off road look. imo.

i think my truck looks like *** w/ 31s. lol.
