BFG M/T KM Question on tire pressure.

I have a 05 supercab 4x4 4.0. I just had the truck fitted with 255 70 R16 Bfg mud terrain km's I was wondering if anyone had a good tire pressure to run in these tires that allow for proper tire wear. They are at 40PSI right now. They ride good, I just don't want to get overinflation wear signs.

they are probably over inflated. just deflate them until you can see that all the tread is on the ground. i have 33x12.5s and the mounting place set them to 42 psi, and i have to run them at 23 psi for the tread to all be touching. im going to say 40 psi is too much.

id say between 30-35 is good. depending on what you carry. If you are going to be towing definitly bump it up to 40-45

Isn't that tire size stock? My sport trac had 255/70R16s stock and I believe the tire pressure on the door jamb was 35 or something. 40psi is over inflated a bit, for sure.

What came on the truck was 255/70/R16's I put the size right back on. Instead of the RT/S in a load C? tire... I stepped up to a LT tire in Load D. I am just curious if this makes any differance.

i would run 32-34. ur going to get bad tire wear at 40psi. ur door sticker should say 30psi but with a mud tire ur going to want a little more. the sidewalls are a lot thicker.
i run my 35x12.5's at 32 front 33 rear. even that seem to be a lot sometimes.

I run my front at about 34 to compensate for the engine weight and about 30-32 in back, cuz there is no weight
