15 vs 16 due to shoe prices

Ok I've decided on the General Grabbers, so now here's the new ?s
Do I buy for my 16s or do I drop down to a 15 with new rims? I can buy a package of 15s for pretty much the same price as just 16 tires. If I do drop to 15s what do I need to look at to make the fit work? Want to stay in the area of 265 75 16 look.
02 XLT 4x4 Off Road. It is my dd (hwy mostly) VERY little off roading.

stick with 16's, the prices have been going down and are about the same as 15's, 16's look better too imo

17s are good for large tire sizes. Above a 35" tire I'd go 17s, (ie: 37" tires)

It really depends on what you get. My 31" BFG at's were $880 new after tax, mounting, alignment. blah blah. I don't think that is too bad.

16's with 33's or smaller, and 17's with 35's or larger.

keep in my the grabber at2 tire at 265/75/16 is a TEN ply tire.... that will be a VERY ruogh ride with no weight.

Thats the biggest reason I went with the 265/70's.

There wont be a problem. But if your looking to save money and you alread have the 16s it will cost more money to buy a new set of rims and tires as opposed to just buying tires.

15's in black steel. looks good with everything, you can take it anywhere and no worries about cold temp and cracking like aluminum.

save the polished 16's for the summer.

black steel FTW!!!

thats what I was thinking- and 15's are a lot easier to come by out here (used) than 16's/
