What tires to get for my truck?

Heres an idea: why don't you elaborate on what kind of terrain you ride on, and what qualities you are most looking for in a tire? All out traction on dirt/sand? On mud? How important is treadlife? What about on-road noise? I put 800-1000 highway miles on my truck a week at 80mph, so mud-tires would be completely out of the question for me (although they're out of the question anyway because I don't off-road.)
I honestly think there would be a big market for an off-road "looking" tire that was maybe only passable off-road, but was quiet on the highway and had great wear characteristics, because I think there are ALOT of poseurs out there who want an off-road looking truck, but don't EVER go off-road.

You can call some tire shops in your area for quotes.

personally i cant stant tire rack for one REASON they dont mount your tires so you still have to take it to a discount tire or what not to PAY to have them mounted. you know what i did. take a print out of the price on tire rack to discount tire and they will match the price and also free mount and balancing!!!

The ranger I got in Seattle - 1999 48K miles 3.0 4x4 stepside XLT double cab. 11,500, my dad didn't argue cause he was down there ona trip and didn't have much time.
Everything is much cheaper downsouth! Ooh except for King Salmon, King Crab, halibut, and other stuff like that. I have freezers full of salmon and king crab.

Baja claws will only last 1/2 the tread life of the BFG's or x-terrains. X-terrains are alot more expensive than BFG's, and the BFG's are better in the mud than all other mentioned tires. I have about 8,000 miles on my BFG's and the only wear that they show is where they are chunking from all the rocks at tellico and my bedsides before i cut them .
