snow tires

I'm running Cooper Weathermaster S/T2 on my 2wd. 235-75/15.
I like them so far and don't need much weight in the back either.
Have the winterforce tires on my wife's Taco with 150-200 lbs in the bed. They wear well IF you keep them rotated. She seldom needs 4wd even with all the lake effect snow we get .Average 300-400 inches a Winter.
Just make sure you go with a narrow tire. You want it to bite down through the snow and slush, not float on top like a wide mud tire .Out of towners are always running off the roads here with their wide tires so I supplement my income quite well recovering them.

General Altimax Arctics have tested noticeably better than Firestone Winterforce and Pirelli Winter Carving Edge in real world testing conducted by Tirerack. The Generals are studdable too.
Winterforce has been a price leader among winter tire brands until this year. The Generals offer excellent value IMO. Was rated #2 by Consumer Reports in 2009 for passenger car winter tires. In 2011, CR rated the Generals #3 for SUV/truck winter tires. #1 was Continental ExtremeWinterContact. #2 was Nokian Hakkapeliitta R. Firestone Winterforce UV were last at #10.
