I have a 2008 ford ranger 4x4 4.0 and I was going to put a 3in body lift on it and wasn't sure what would be best with 15x8 rims with a -18mm offset 33s or if 35s would fit without any problems?

 

33s. 35s require both suspension and body.

I have a 91 Ford Ranger 4.0 4x4. It has 7 inches of lift if you include the F150 coil springs. I have 31x10.50s on it and there's a lot of space to be had. Does anyone have any recommendations? It used to have 33x12.50's on it with no rub. I'm wondering if I can fit some 35's on it. I apologize if there is another thread answering this. I'm still searching for it. Thank you.

That truck doesn't look nearly tall enough to run 35s if you ask me.

 

I am running 33s with no lift. It all depends on tire width, wheel width and wheel offset. I guess the height of the vehicle from the factory is a factor also.

I did do a 1.5" T-bar crank to get a little lift up front. I had to bend the front mud flap brackets to get clearance at full turn. My tires are also 10.5" wide with the stock FX4 15x7"alloy wheels. I get no rubbing at all even with extreme articulation off-road. I don't think I have had the combination of full turn with full articulation yet but I doubt even that would be a problem. I have sway bar disconnects with limiting straps up front so I do get quite a bit of travel in the front suspension.

I prefer to not have the truck too high because it raises the center of gravity and can cause difficulty in some of the terrain I travel. I also carry considerable weight because I am off-road for extended periods and need to carry a lot of stuff with me. The combination of lift and weight are not good when traversing steep side angles. Wider track helps but then you go back to needing more lift. Wider track causes more stress on the wheel bearings making them more prone to failure. That is something not desirable in extended off-road travel. There are advantages to lifts but mostly not needed for me so far.

It has a 3 inch body lift a 3 inch suspension lift and F 150 springs. Its questionable whether 35's will fit. Its only 7 inches not 9 so it may rub but Im wondering if it is just going to be a little rub that I can adjust to. Thanks

So here it is. 35x12.50r15 BFG MTs all mounted. 7 inches of lift. It rubs when in full turn in the inside fender on the plastic. Going to get some bushwacker cutout fender flares and cut the fender back. Other then that they dont rub any steering components or anything else. In a full turn driving while going through a hole I'm sure they would rub a lot more so Im going to trim away and fix it with bushwacker cutout fender flares.

Here is a closer shot of the front tire and fender. I really don't mind trimming the fender on this old rig because they are dented anyway and its a project truck. I'm just glad I could get them on there and still drive it.
