Fr 500
Guys/ladies-
I'm looking at FR500s for my '05. I've been looking around, I did some searching on here and it wasn't quite clear.
They are 17x9s, offset is +24mm and the backspacing is 5.85"
Will I need to run a spacer? I've seen the the 18x9s on an Explorer with I think the same specifications and he's running no spacer.
Thanks for the help.

Exploders are set-up differently up front.
You WILL need a spacer, youll hit the sway bar up front, and youll rub the spindle with anything wider than 255
I had 2" adapters, that brought the wheels out to the end of the fender flare. Made my truck look mean.
I would offer those to you, cause i still have them, but i just might give them to someone else.
See.. :)

That is awesome, thanks for the info guys.
FoMoCo, the stance/wheel combo is awesome on your truck. Was that stock height? Could you tell me the whole size of the tire?

275/60/17 Kuhmo ECSTA STx tires...
Not stock height, rear blocks removed. To level the truck out.

2" spacers? I am going to be running some 17x9 Cobra's, and I am considering a 5/16" spacer to clear the front. I am not keen on the spacers, but I will do it if I have to. I know I can clear the rear with no spacer, but the front I cannot.
Leo, did you have spacers [2"] on all 4 corners?
Man...275/60..that's huge. I am gonna [maybe] run 255/45. I want 275/40, but I don't know if that would blow up the power steering pump, or clear at all.

FoMoCo,
You said more than 255 will rub? I'm gonna assume you meant that without the spacers because you were running a 275. Am I following correctly?
Roach,
Pretty sure I'm going black but maybe silver, for sure not chrome. I ordered some 20" Boss 303 in black but there was a shipping issue which worked out because I ended up realizing I didn't want 20s. I still want some tire and the ability a nice offroad tire if I end up lifting.

@Shaun , yea man, 255 is pushing it with no spacer. Cause its about as wide as the rim itself...
I was running 275 without spacers, but they were rubbing on the top of the spindle constantly, and it sucked.
@swoop, 275/60 is huge...lol I LOVE IT..And yes, 2" on all corners.
I had 285/55/18 on this setup

Leo,
What do you think would be the minimum spacer to run to clear the sway bar and spindle?

I found some on Summit for cheap. I've heard good things about the ones from Maximum Motorsports too.
