It all depends if they're older jeep, or newer jeep. Older Jeeps were 5x4.5 like rangers, but the newer ones are all 5x5, so you would need to adapt the 5x4.5 ranger to the 5x5 jeep rim.

2" would definitely work. But you probably don't need that much. A 1.5 or 1.75" spacer would probably be sufficient.

I've never used the adapters before.Do you have to make sure the stud is covered? And yes it is 5x4.5

Also check with machine shops for price on enlarging center hole on the 4 or 5 wheels/rims
You want to be able to rotate the tires and have a spare

Cost of that vs spacers
Costs nothing to make a few calls

Google: wheel center bore enlarging

Also: how to bore out rims at home

I have a beater/project 1999 Ranger. I needed new tires, and so I found some nicer aluminum wheels with decent tires on them for $125 on Craigslist. Of course, even though they were Ranger wheels, they didn't fit on my 2WD hubs. I found this thread, and a couple others. A 3" hole saw was almost perfect. It took a little work to get it to set in the hole, but once it did it was pretty simple to make the hole big enough. I took off so little I'm very confident the wheel is structurally sound, and it cost me $14. Something to consider if you're in the same position.

Definitely recommend having that done professionally. Luckily for you, Ranger wheels are lug centric.
