35's or bigger?

I've got a guy who wants to buy my 33's off of me (they're too small anyways) and I'm looking around for a bigger tire. I found 35x12.50 BFG at's for 702 mounted and balanced. Anyone know of a tire that'll last and that I can buy for right around that price or up to 800? I can go up to 38's. I've been researching a little and can't seem to find anything around that price. I have 15" rims. Any opinions?

for the price you got quoted, you could buy them from Summit and have them mounted/balanced for less than that....

Summit:

and Summit will price match any place online you find the tires cheaper......like tire rack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....e1=yes&place=0

The place I'd be getting them from sells them at 145 a tire and 13 to mount on balance. I stole his reciept that he was calculating on with all the charges and he's got an 11% tax on 633.12. I may just get the tires from him and mount them myself and have someone else balance them. That should put it at 660 or somewhere close to that.

it is 7%, that's what I'm wondering about. But to me that's still a good deal, 660 for 35's mounted and balanced.

If I go back I'll have to ask him what the 11% charge is.

I'd actually look into that STS. I know you have mentioned you tow and you don't go offroad much.

I don't believe that you can fit up to 38s. That's more than your axle can likely handle anyways. Go with the 35s. BFG A/Ts are a good choice, they'll last you a looooooooong time.

I'm having a big brain fart right now, long day at work. STS as in........? 36x14.50 I could do that.

EDIT: Nevermind, the light came on when reading another thread.

I tell ya'll what, what I may do is just buy the BFG 35's as a DD tire. Once I have those I can buy some wheel adapters from 5x4.5 to 5x5.5 and steal some 37's of of my Sami. Thats a bit much for me for the STS's and I KNOW for a fact BFG at's last forever. I could get 4.88's for a little kick and towing and for those days when I feel like being a big balla with 37's. I forgot what brand tires they are but they're smaller than 37 so I think they'll fit.

Escambia County has a discretionary sales surtax that bumps the sales tax up to 7%. It's been that way since I can even remember.http://dor.myflorida.com/dor/taxes/discretionary.html

The BFGs are a good deal for the money. Only complaint I have about mine is they run a little small for their stated size. Toyos are expensive, but I have found basically nothing bad about the toyo mts. I parked next to a f150 with a set of 35x13.5s and the toyos were taller and about 2 inches wider than my 35 BFGs.
