help with new tires

Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't seem to locate it. I have the stock Ranger 14x? rims (So that's my first question, fill in the question mark lol) What is the biggest tire size I can put on these rims? Do I just find any tire with a 14" wheel opening? I'm totally new to tires so any help is appreciated, I really want to get some bigger tires, good for all seasons, and just definitely getting me some more grip in the snow and more ground clearance, hit a snow bank last year that really f'd up my quarter panel (going into my driveway) and i don't want that crap happening again, it just got it too if I was a little higher it wouldn't have happened lol.

Anyways, thanks, so in summary 14x? rims and whats the biggest I can go and how do I shop for them (I know where to look, but do I have to get certain tread width or can i get anything, etc?)

Dave

Yeah get some 15's you can get a good set brand new for next to nothing (compared to other rims), like under $40 each. Getting a 15 inch rim will open a flood gate of tire choices.
