BFG Rugged Trail T/A

What do you think of these?

http://www.costco.com/Tires/Product....ed=T&Width=245

I can get a set of 4 of those or 2 new Good Year wranglers RT/s, for the same price. I only need 2 new tires on the rear because It came with new ones on the front when i got it.

Goodyear Wrangler RT/S are I believe considered the worst tires EVER. Some tire called "rt/s" at least.

Get something more offroady! Like an allterrain.

I would get All terrains but im working on a limited budget.

Yeah I know the Wrangler RT/S's arent great choices but Ive got the front ones with 100% and the rear are almost bald. It sucks trying to accelerate with all this rain I just spin my tires.

I have the BFG's on my Tundra. I like them. They have good dry and wet traction and they seem to handle well on the road. HAd the RT/s on my 2000 ranger. They are the Worst tire I have ever driven. scale of 1-10 they get a 0.

Yea they are pretty soft, which is one of the reasons they grip the road pretty well, my next tire will be the goodyear silentarmors.

Silentarmors

Note when clicking the link the size shown is for my truck.

A co worker has the rugged trails on his mountaineer, the first set lasted 70,000 and the second set lasted 60,000. I know he really likes them...

Don't buy the RT/S whatever you do....

my dad has the older version of these tires on his big ole f150 with 36,xxx miles on them and they look to have another 10-15k miles left on them, and thats on a heavy truck

they seem to have really good traction in all kinds of weather, but he also carries a bed loaded with tools everywhere so the extra weight helps

Call your local tire shops because I know I got my Toyo's same size as yours for $100 each.

I also found these. General Grabber A/T 2

Im not sure how good they are, but they are a knock off BFG A/T. $101 each.

I have tried a set of rugged trails in the snow and they suck... They don't wear fast though.

I think I have decided on the rugged trails, I do go off road once in a while but Its nothing major so I should be good.

The reason I want to get them at costco is because they are running $60 off a set of 4 and they have free installation, free balancing, free rotation, free everything. You pay the price of the tire and they take care of them for the life of the tire. My dad got some from there and a couple years later it wasnt holding air that well (lossing 10 PSI in a month) they pulled all of the tires and reset the bead. They also have free flat repair ftw.

Oh yeah if I dont like them I can return them. :-)

Costco is sweet for that kind of stuff. If I didn't have a discount tire credit card (90 days same as cash) then I would definitely buy my tires from Costco...

The best part is I work there and if I ever need flat repair or rotation I can just have it done while im working. No extra trip needed.

Unfortunatly I dont get a discount :(

I went with the 265/75/R16 Hercules Terra Trac A/T. They seem to be a good tire. Very quiet on the highway with a pretty aggressive deep tred.

i know the original of the grabber mentioned here is commonly used for 70-80 miles, i've had mine 10k and they still look new

i wouldnt buy them tho unless you stay on road all the time, a dirt road broke a belt in one of mine (about 30 mph)
