Want to sand my rims, what is a good grit?
I have put 2 coats of primer on my one rim as a test subject. It does have some ripples in it that I want to knock down. I have some 220 grit lying around... When it dries to you think this will do the trick? I am not looking to wet sand or make the appearance of a $3000 spray paint job. I just want to kill a few of the "bumps." Thanks... Pics to follow(when the batt in the camera gets charged)

You suck doc!
jk. Use a really high grit(i think thats the right size) and sand em down. I sandblasted my rims using a high school sandblaster and that did an awesome job. Then a few layers of paint and a few layers of clearcoat. Do black because it shows up really well. If you go for shiny silver it'll be shiney...until you spray the clearcoat which'll darken it to grey.

HAha... If you weren't in AK I would..... J/K OF COURSE IT WILL BE BLACK! I had the wheels prepped and primed all ready I just need to knock a few little mountains down.. and yes the higher the number the finer the paper.... Figure that. 220 enough you think? I had some 1000 grit stuff but my dad stole it for his usage! LOL
