2001 and Up Wheels on Gen 2 (1992)

Found a really nice deal of wheels and tires that is hard to pass up on Craigslist. The seller states they are off of a 2004 Ranger, and they look like the wheel that came on a stock FX4 (5-spoke design). To my knowledge I thought the stock FX4 wheel was a 16", but he states they are 17" with 265/65/17 Cooper AT3's on them which I am a big fan of since I have those on my F-150. I know the size is a little larger than the 235's I have on there now, but only a little over an inch, plus I plan on putting a 1.5-2" lift on pretty soon. The only thing that worries me is that 2001+ Rangers do not have lock out (or automatic hubs like mine), and I am worried about the new wheels fitting over the hubs. Has anybody ever tried to fit newer wheels on an older Ranger? Here is a link to the Craigslist add so y'all can get a better idea of what wheels I am talking about. Thanks in advanced. https://tricities.craigslist.org/wto/5726105763.html

If these are 17s, they came off an explorer. Rangers never got 17s. If they don't fit, you can always run a little spacer or get the center of the rim machined a little bigger.

That's what I was thinking too about them coming off of an Explorer. I read on TRS, that the FX4 wheels can be machined .10-.20 of an inch and make those kind of wheels work. Should be able to take a set of calipers and measure the hub in order to make the center hole just right. Backspacing should be ok since "usually" stock Ranger wheels have a backspacing of 4.5". Thanks for the response, and hope to update soon from the purchase!
