looks like they have a huge backspacing by the looks of the pictures....if they have almost a 4" backspacing, then they will fit

I just called him. They were on a 04 Mountianeer...same as the explorer. He is unsure what the back spacing is. He had them put on at discount tire and took them off before he traded in for an F150. He said they didn't rub at all when he had them on.

well 04 explorer/mounts are alot taller then your truck see. i fit my 32x10.5x16 on my moms explorer with 100% no problems and could have acully go bigger. it would be hjard to say on your truck with out getting in the wheel well and star mesureing

it says that the wheel diameter now is 86.085 inches and the new one would be 94.223.

If my math is right....i have a 27.42" tire now....the 17's would put me right at 30.01"

well you can do this a few ways start with checking width first cause i think thats gonna kill ya. you gonna have to also move it out .5" out i am asuming with those wheels measure when the wheel is turning and see if it would contact the fender/bumper anything on the inside, then width hight you can you split the difference from the center hub and measure and see if it will clear the top and take into affect the wheel travel too, some people cut like wood sticks to lenth you could instead of holding the tape measure..

http://www.net-comber.com/tirecalc.html

go tho that website. I am running 225/70/15's. If you take the Circum of that tire, divide by pie (3.14) you get the diameter. 27.42"

Now take the 275/60/17's do the same thing and you get 30.01"

i know how to calc tire size... been doing it along time here

here is your tires in Inches...

225x70x15 = 27.4x8.86x15

275x60x17 = 29.99x10.83x17

you only have height there width is a huge factor here in turning for you and a 11" wide tire might not work key word MIGHT... you need to get out side now knowing the size and measure instead of debating thats the only way you will 100% figure it out...cause you can fit a 30" tall tire but its normally a 30x9.5x15 is what fits good. hard to say with the 10.83" wide tires

ok...i went outside and dang is it getting cold.....anyways.....i took a ruler, turned the wheel and looked on all sides. I didn't see a problem area where is my hit. I guess I can take one of the wheels, put it on an check it out better that way. You say the 30" tall tire will fit ok? If so that would really fill up the wheel wells a bit more and look better IMO.

Well...after making a few call and talking to a few people I am hearing that they will not fit. That tire is just too big for my truck. I guess I will have to go another route.

Thanks for all your help Redneck.

umm.. i had 29's on my truck with no lift at all..
they should fit, if not get some coil spacers for your truck.

or you could just get bigger tires for your 15's.

how bout this to be completly sure, ask the guy if you could come to his house and make a test fit on your truck. Put all four on, make a visual check first that no rubbing is going to be done on the brakes, which they shouldn't, or anything else back there. start the truck, turn the wheel all the way and roll foward. if you here nothing then cool, also check the travel of your suspension, maybe ride one front tire up on a curb somewhere, get out and check the clearance. Could you do that?
