New Ranger

Hello guys,
I am new to Ranger and this forum. I will buy a 2011 Ranger(XLT, super cab, 4 Cyl, manual) tomorrow. I will add leather seats, spray bed and chrome wheels. I need advice on wheels. 15" is stock and if I get this size I can use the OEM tires. I have read warnings about using oversize wheels that the truck was not designed for. Are the warnings in regards to braking and suspension real or just crap? Can't wait for the truck. Thanks for your help.

Uncletim.

if you run larger than stock tires like 33s and 35s obviously lifted you will need to gear change but with 4.10s you can get away with it. also for braking it will be harder because of more rotating mass.

"Supercab" is 2 doors with jump seats(sideways) and a small storage area. The "leather" is Katskin installed at the dealer by their aftermarket section.

Well, I now understand offset, backspace, 33s and 35s but am lost on 4.10s. Thanks for your patience.

Yeah, I always had cars. First company cars and then a 95 Civic(192K miles) and then a 04 2 door Accord(187K miles). 4 cyl and manual. Now I wanted a small truck. Honda-4 doors, 6 cyl, automatic-no bueno!! Nissan-ugly. Tacoma-a manual like the 41 jeep my dad had. GM/Chrysler-bailed out by you know who. That left Ford. Test drive-loved it. Last year of manufacture=gotta have it. Will be delivered next week. Thanks for the encouragement.

Tim,

I also just picked up a 2011 ranger, I got the dealer to throw on some Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armours, I think they threw on 255/70/r16's. Personally I'm sticking close to a stock-size tire for a few years, I'll start messing around with bigger tires when I want to modify without voiding warranty.

Supercab is when you have the 2 rear suicide doors. You are just extended cab.

Incorrect, supercab can be the 2 door or 4 door ranger.....I just looked at my 2010 supercab 2 door's window sticker.

interesting. 2 Door Supercab, 4 Door Supercab. 2 Door Supercab sounds like an oxymoron lol. I will still with Extended Cab and Supercab.
