so the time has come ... in a couple months that is lol

So I have been saving for an 8 inch lift for my super. I think I will have enough by December. I need to figure out what tires to get. I love bfg mudders but i dont think they make them in 38x14.50s, any idea oh what tires would work for me that will last me a while. These bfgs are holding up decent, but with burn outs haha they dont stand a chance. i would prefer a mud tire look but an at is an option ... anyone have any advise?

thanks

-Jared

You have to remember though, with longer tread life you loose traction because of a harder compound. I know you tow a lot and drive the street but do you off-road much? I don't think a mud tire would be economical because you don't need them. I bet you'd get better tread life out of an all terrain tire. As far as what tire, I'm still not sure. I'm looking.

i dont off road my truck, i do go up dirt roads and everything, sometimes they are muddy but never any trails, haha this truck is to big for that. not meant to flex out and all that happy stuff. a harder compound id be ok with, I just like to aggressive look of a MT but not a must ... i think it will look good with the lift and larger tires ... i just dont want a bfg at i hate the at ...

I kinda like the look of the Pro Comp Xterrains. They come in a 38x14.5R17 size but I'm not really sure what rim size you're going with. They are load range E for a heavy truck so that won't be an issue. They're a radial so road worthy manners would be present. A big downfall is a directional tread pattern that can only be rotated front to back unless you reverse the tread pattern.

MTZ or Nittos, im pretty sure the nittos would wear a quite a bit faster.

and the only AT i can think of above a 35 is the ATZ and tahts the only AT in my book that looks good over a 33.. i think BFGs look like crap when you go that big, it just looks funny being that big and not knobby...

i take that big, 4WP has a 37 1250 AT...
MTZs are a 38x1550?
and they have a 37 1250 MFG mud.. gotta look funny that thin tho IMO

hmmm how about some Ground Hawgs?

just saw u wanted the Toyos, and you said you hit mud holes? i have heard from multiple people that Toyos suck in the mud, just something to think about

Cooper ST...all of the Super Duties around here have them, great tread life, and they are a mix between ATs and MTs I think.

BUT ...

stopped by discount tire today to see what they had to offer haha what a joke ... lol BUT 2700 for wheels and tires lmao laaaame
but it helped me figure out what i wanted to do ... i think i am going to go with a 38x15.50R20 ...

probably the mickey thompson mtz ... still thinkin of rims ... i kinda like the mb gunner 8 in a chrome finish ....

here is a super lifted 7 inches i think (gaser ick) with 38x15.50s on those gunner wheels ... i like it ... looks kinda goofy it being a single cab with that man killer bumper ... but not bad not a fan of the brand of tires haha..

here are the wheels ...
these are in the "Anthracite Machined" finish, i want the chrome ones (there would be no black, whole rim is chrome)
