Tire ideas and input.

SO here is the deal i run currently 31x10.5 BFG T/A KO's on my ranger, well they are already over 50% gone at 15k miles on my truck so i am guessing i should be into 4/32 and 5/32 of tread within the coming two months. Being i have a 55k tread life warranty i will get pro ration per tire for a new set.

But i am not sure what to do.

I want to go MT/R but i really rather not lose alot of mpg..

I also cant decide if i should go with a 31, 32, or a 33. My trucks t-bars are cranked and i think i can fit a 33 but im not to sure.

Otherwise should i just stay with the tire i have an just get a cheap set of them again.

What about a 31 inch mt/r?

Well any tire ideas let me know, it also has to be a tire that discount tire carries.

How much better do MT/R do in the snow then A/T's??

here are what i am looking at:

I have these:

i REALLY like these:

Otherwise these are the other two:

2nd one's look sweet. but I vote for some 32x10.5 swampers!

Also I don't know if discount tire is like this but I have been told by a couple of tire shops around the house that the department stores get a lower quality tire to sell for a lower price. My old man was buying tires at walmart and not getting 30k out of them when I'd get 60k out of the same tire ordered of the internet.

Hmmm i really dont know.. as long as they honor tread life warranties i dont complain.

But mudders have no tread warranty so that is a factor too eeeek.

And i think its 32x11.5 ;]

thats what i am looking to do i am just not sure on what the loses are for mpg.. I mean i am happy with what i get.. but if its like a 3mpg loss i dont know if its worth it since fuel will go back up.

I think as long as you stay in the 31-32" range and 10.5 or less wide I don't think you'll really see that much of a loss. I doubt you'll lose more than two no matter what tire you go with.

Hmm i think thats true i will probably do a 32 x 11.50 in the km2 the second tire listed. Only fear is tread life on them. Otherwise a 32 x 11.50 T/A wouldnt kill me.

nah she'd looke good I think that is best looking tread for the tire you showed. another good tire is the nitto mud grapplers. they're a pretty high milage tire. Not to much road noise with them either. Pricey tire though the 33X11.50R16 is $258 and they don't show a 32, but I think if you look on nitto's web site they make one. I think?

In all honesty, Here's what I think.

In the snow, the A/T will take it hands down. I love my MTR's, but after driving all weekend thru the snow with them, I'll take the A/T's again for traction in the snow.

The KM2's are a great tire, they're real soft, and they LOVE to throw stuff. I got the first rock chip in my windshield from one of my buddy Jesse's KM2's thowing a rock at me.

The old BFG Mud Terrain, you may be able to still pick up cheap as they aren't making em anymore I don't think.

Thats my 2 penny's worth

When I wheeled with a jeep with 31 MTRs he didn't have any problem in the snow. My vote is KM2s though.

31s still give you a lot of room to flex as well, I rubbed a couple times when I flexed out the 32s when I was stock.

I am going to be the odd one out. I know you are MPG crazy and all that...but it's a truck, do a 3" body lift and 33" BFG KM2's (if they make them in that size) otherwise MT/R's...

didn't someone else do it? you just have to make a shifter extension for the tcase...shouldn't be hard (if it's possible)
