I've filled up 8 times since I started tracking my mileage (98 3.0L 4x4 4.10LS regular cab with 32x11.50 steel belted radial at's and 15x8 steel wheels) and I average 14.4 MPG with mostly city driving. The first 4 fill ups were with the mechanical fan (13.29 MPG) and the last 4 were with an efan and after a tune up (spark plugs/wires, new o2 sensors, pcv valve, seafoam, fuel filter, fuel injector cleaner) 14.65 MPG. Not that my gas mileage will go up in the summer, however, I think that the difference would have been larger had I measured my mileage in the summer.

Most a/t's are gonna be quieter than m/t's. The sound comes as an added bonus with the extra traction I've had my mud grapplers for almost 3 months now and i love the way they sound coming down the road. I also went from 30's on 15" rims to 33's on 16" rims and i only noticed 1-1.5 mpg difference.....
Go with m/t's if youre gonna do anything offroad
Go with a/t's if youre worried about sound and treadwear

if you dont know how to do it, and plan on going with a bigger tire in the future, then go to a 4.10....
