I bought rims off a explorer 4wd at the junkyard with good tires on them.
I thought everything would work until I go to put them on and the hub is larger than whats on my truck. They fit fine other than the hub issue. I was so excited to put them on today, all the research I've done showed the explorer rims should fit.
They're 15" with 235/75

what year explorer are they off and what year truck are you putting them on because they should fit no problem

 

I don't understand what the hub problem is. I have 4wd 97 explorer rims on mine. They should fit no problem.

 

I would def say late 90s explorer on a 94 ranger 2wd.

I just put them on and there's like a 3/16" gap around the hub.

 

that should be fine, look at all your aftermarket wheels, most of them dont fit tight on the hub like a factory rim does

 

Wouldn't I need hub centric rings tho?
I just don't want my lugs snapping off.

 

it'll be fine as long as you used your stock acorn or beveled lug nuts.

 

All of our rims (Ranger's and Explorer's OEM) are lug-centric not hub-centric as far as I'm aware.

 

I just want a few more "a okays".
I imagine it would be fine since a lot of hub centric rings are made of plastic...wtf?!

 

wow i was confused bolt the things on and call it good they will be fine. like said b4 the lugs center the rims not the hub bolt them on and you will be fine.

 

They will fit, torque em' up and you're good to go.

thoes are not 15's, thoes are 16's, and they should fit your ranger with no problems

 

our trucks use lug centering wheels. the lugs are acorn shaped to hold the wheel in the center. If there is a gap between the hub and the rim not a problem

 

oh yeah make sure to torque them up to 105 lbs. I work at a tire shop and wouldnt think twice about bolting on that setup

 

they came in 15s to man not just 16s

Yeah I think I would know if they were 16's since the rims have 15 stamped around the hub hole

 

No they didnt those are 16.. the 15 Tear drops look completely different...

I had Exploder rims on my old Ranger for a while...should be fine.

 

in my 7 years in being around rangers, i have never seen these wheels in a 15" you better measure out the rim to make sure it is a 15", and maybe this is that one rare case where ford madea 15" teardrop in that design


infact i do have the same set or rims in my possesion that i just took off my ranger

 

I had those same rims on my old ranger when I bought it. They were 16" and would fit another ranger or an explorer just fine!
