wanting to get 33" tires and wheels
hey there, finally saved up enough money to upgrade tires and wheels on my 2010 ford ranger 4 x 4 sport.
i went to the store to get 33" tires and custom wheels at 16" or 17". but the retailer said they cannot do both because the wheel offset will be too large and it will hit the bottom out bracket on the inside of the wheel well, and will not fit or turn properly. i have torsion keys in it cranked and 2" lift blocks in the back..
Now, i want to get both 33" tires and custom wheels, i dont mind if trimming has to be done on the front plastic piece, i just somehow want to get both tires and wheels. is there anyway i can make these fit.
if not
i will either just get 33" tires and mount them on my 16" wheels
or
i will jus add 16" custom wheels to my 285/75/16's tires
what to do???
thanks!

IIRC they have since removed the rear lift blocks on the newer rangers that are on the 01-03s (probably others but i know these for sure.)
IIRC the newer rangers sit a lot lower than the prior generation rangers. this would cause you issues with fitment, keys are a bad idea as they stress out the torsion bars cause premature wear.
Just some things to research.

I would suggest a 1" body lift along with the blocks and T-bar crank. I have an 02 with a 1" BL and t-bar crank and im running 285/75/R16 goodyear wrangler duratracs which are an amazing tire btw. i only have slight rubbing one the mud flaps at full lock. the little side wall treads also rubbed on the sway bar at full lock. After the BL, blocks and crank you should be fine the pre key mod would also help because its not really adding all that much more stress to your torsion bars its just changing your ride height from what ford makes them now too what they used to make them at.
