I've had both... BFG All Terrains and Goodyear Duratracs. If I were to buy another set I'd go Duratracs hands down! I don't have any major complaints on the BFGs but I like the Duratracs much better. Much better traction in every condition (wet/snow/mud) and they look better too! The only thing I can't comment on is wear. The Duratracs look to be doing just fine but I don't have enough miles on them yet. The BFGs wear awesome! I had them on my truck until 60,000km and then they went on the XJ for another 20,000km or so and they're still have probably 60-70% tread life remaining.

Wirelessly posted (Droid2)

Never had Duratracs, but I've heard people say good things about them. You still can't go wrong with BFG A/T's.

I can't live with that kind of commitment to my tires.

I have the Duratracs and would buy them again. The BFG all terrains have a very hard compound, the duratracs are a softer compound with more grip. I think that the Duratracs ride smoother too.

i haven't had either tire, but my next tire will be one of those, i think im going to go with the duratracs because i'm thinking the bfg at won't be aggressive enough for me.

I have a feeling Duratracs are gonna replace BFG ATs as the forums "Go-To" all terrain. It seems like every month there is a "I need new tires" thread and the responses went from 70/30 BFGs to 70/30 Duratracs just over the summer.

I think that's fair anyway since the BFG KM2 is still are "Go-To" mud-terrain for the most part.

Honestly the only complaints I've heard are to be expected:

A little louder due to more aggressive tread. But not as bad as mud terrains.

A little faster tread wear, also due to more aggressive tread

yea and the compound is just a little softer...but all those complaints are like you said to be expected...i think the duratrac is a happy medium between the bfg ats and the mud terrains
