15x8 vs 15x10
I've seen a quite a few threads about wheels and tires but not really a definite answer on rim sizes.
example: I want to get a 32x11.5x15 with BFG's. I have been to BFG's website and other websites and both rims are listed (15x8, 15x10) for the size tire I would like to get. Bytheway, they are just to start me out, another post for the other mods I am doing. My question is really why would I chose one over the other.
I understand that the 15x10 is a wider rim and may make the tire stick out further than a 15x8, but other than that what about safety or making the bead lock against the rim? Or anything else I maybe missing?
Thanks Jeff

the tire will stay on a 15x8 better than a 15x10, from what i hear on a 15x8 the whole tires doesnt hit the ground where as a 15x10 will have the whole tire on the ground, IMO a 15x8 works just fine as i havent had a problem with mine at all and as long as you rotate properly you schouldnt have a problem at all, plus it looks much much better.....

Well right now I am thinking 15x8 with 3 3/4 backspacing Mickey Thompson Classic II rim because I am leaning on the Fabtech 5.5 suspension lift kit. Remember I am a 2wd with a slip differntial. A little dog trying to run with the big dogs. I wanted the Moto Metal rims but the BS was 4" and Fabtech says 3 3/4 max and I am not quite sure about the BS at this point. Better safe than sorry. Bytheway, I have not called about the issue of BS (that is another thread) to Fabtech and I have been searching online and have not found the magis words to find me that answer.

Thanks Evan for the pics. Between the 2 there is not that much of a differnece and I will stay with my original chose of the 15x8. If there were any hazards from undersizing the rim retailers would be infactic about the prescribed rim size and since they are not I like the 15x8. Look for pics soon.
Thanks Jeff
