SAS....waggy front, stock rear....drill out rear to waggy pattern??

Hey.

I'm sure this has been discussed before. I'll be running a FSJ wagoneer d44 front. Running with the stock 8.8. And the wheels I want to run aren't avalible in 5x4.5.....so....should have my shafts on the rear drilled out, or get undrilled rims and go from there.

I really don't want to run an aluminum spacer/adapter set up....as she'll be a wheeler. I don't like 'em.

Thanks!

Shane

you can get your shafts redone for the right lug or buy new shafts then buy 8.8 rotors and get them redrilled..

any machine shop should be able to do that for you..

i say run a spacer for now...

put some different knuckles on the front and run like 5on5.5 then find the 8.8 parts from an older pre97 f150, they had 8.8s, have the shafts shortened and sick them in an explorer rear end.

You know....thats a great idea. I jsut need to make sure they have my wheel size avalible in 5x5.5. Are the f150 8.8s 31 spline?? This is not happening until next summer....and i'm already starting to buy parts.

I am pretty sure the 86-96 F150s had 8.8s behind them in 5on5.5

97+ still have some 8.8s but they are 5on135mm

I need a 8.8 from an older F150, that should match my Front D44 in width right?

any F-150 8.8 up to '96 (because of the 5x5.5 bolt pattern; changed pattern in '97) will be the same width as your Dana 44.......

Buy a pair of Chevy small bearing spindles and Ford F150 rotors. Buy a pair of wheel adapters to convert your rear axle from 5x4.5 to 5x5.5. This is the easiest and cheapest solution.

All broncos 80'-96 also have a 31 spline 8.8 in the back... and will match the width of the HP 44 you have.
