long distance on M/Ts?
I have yokahama geolander m/ts(31x10.5) on the truck now but im debating on whether or not i should sell my stock wheels and tires. my thinking is im planning on making a 3 hour trip about once a week this summer and i was thinking it may put alot of were on my good tires.
Would it be worth the trouble to switch them out and then put my good tires back on when I got to my destination and do the same on the return trip?

swapping out tires between each trip would get expensive. or are you talking about swapping wheels? seems like either one woud be a pain. do you need m/ts for where you are going? why not just swap on the stockers for the whole summer if you're going to be driving a lot on the road?
if you're just takling about gas mileage, do you know how big of a difference you are getting from m/t to stock tires? if its not much I wouldn't worry about it.

I run dunlop mud rovers on my truck. Im getting real close to the same mpg with them as I was the stock tires. Just depends on how much trouble it would be to change out. If you had to carry the extra set with you, that would hurt your mileage. If it were me I would just change them out for the summer and save the m/ts for winter weather.
