Brake Help...
1st off let me start by saying "what's up?" I guess i'm the new guy around here. But I have a very important question. I have recently changed my brakes and got new tires, and now i have like a squeaking noise coming from my passenger front tire. It gets louder it seems if i turn more to the left. Can anyone please gimme some help. I know I'm the "new guy" but this is a very aggervating problem. Any help would be GREAT!

Yeah i pulled off the tire today, and took off the caliper and then off with the pads, and everything seemed to be put on correctly. I mean there really is not a way in hell that i would be dumb enough to put a brake pad on backwards. I did see some paint scratched off on the brake pad on the piston side of the caliper, but i thought it was normal. Then i thought that it might be the vibration bracket mounted on the top of the caliper. So i removed it and put it back into its place. So after the frustration of not finding out anything, i went to reinstall everything and i noticed that the 2 bolts that mount the caliper did seem to have a little give. Like they didnt want to tighten down. But i would think it would be normal... Is it? Because it does have 2 rubber spacers between the 2 bolt holes and caliper. Are they suppose to be able to move? If this was any helpful information to lead someone to the cause of my problem. Please let me know.. I can also take pics of the whole set-up. ( 2000 Ford Ranger Sport Ext. Cab )

Our front rotors require the removal of the wheel berrings in order to replace them. Did you clean off the berrings and re-pack them or use the old grease? Grease is like fly-paper for dirt and other rubbish and a pair of greasy berrings can attract a LOT of items ( unbeknownst to us ) while they are out of the rotor.
I buy 2 cans of brake cleaner when I do a pair of rotors. After removing the rotors from their proper packaging, I spray the hell out of them to make sure all the anti-corrosion oil/sealent is removed. If any of it gets into the pads, it will cause burn on the rotor and POSSIBLY irregular noises. The pads MAY NOT show any signs of odd wear, but if any of this was to burn into them from rotor friction, it could cause an ongoing problem no matter how much you clean them AFTER it happens.
Theres 2 Instances that can cause noises and they are both mechanical.
1.) The calpier and its actions. Having the pads ride or NOT ride the rotor
2.) The Wheel Berrings having something improper within their functions.
Some would point to ' brake dust ' and other items, but those are part of the calpier and its actions.

It would be hard to remount the calpier with the pads on backwards. It won't fit.

It is normal from the pistons pressure on the pad.

This wouldn't cause a squeal, but a vibration noise and would be VERY noticable.

No. The bracket should be tightened and have loc-tite used to make sure it stays locked. I don't have the torque specs ( on the laptop/not here ) but that bracket should not move. No play at all.

I am going out to cheak all that out right now. I will post when or if i figure out this pesky problem. But the last time i took off the caliper and put it back on it seemed that the brake pads were rubbing on the rotor (front pass. side) and then i noticed that the caliper did have some give... I will go and check it all out again. Thanks again for the reply. I will keep an update for my progress.
