New Tires
Hello! This Saturday I will be taking my 99 4x4 to discount tire to get some new BFG all terrains. Is there anything that I should do or have them do when I get the tires put on? Also I heard something about the tires being a 10 ply tire which makes the truck ride a little more rough, what do you guys that have them think? Thanks for the help!

dude im not trying to sound like an ******* but the bfgs suck major *** compared to the new goodyears. the bfgs fill with mud and stay packed. they also arent that great in the snow. they are an old technology tire there are much better tires out there now.
if you want one of the best tires on the market today buy the goodyears.

see if they have any 255/70/16 on hand-those are 8 ply at least.
plus they're wider :) tiny bit shorter though but not even by a half inch
for the record i agree they are WAY outdated. and over priced for what you get
yeah they come with 3-4 more 32nds tread but they don't last any longer than the gy's , toyos, falkens, kumhos. multimiles etc. all of which come in an appropriate 4 ply or 6 ply for our trucks

I had the BFG's. Take my truck all over the desert and i never had a problem. But they went bald a little quicker than i wanted and lost wet traction with them all together after half tread life. All in all a great tire for the desert thou. 10 ply stood up to sticks, cacti and rocks. So - pro's and Con's in my book. Only tire i ever had in the snow. So can't compare them to anything there.
But i'm looking for tires and you all got me thinking about goodyears. Which i never liked in the past.
