thornbirds

whats everyones thoughts on these tires? they come in 31x12.50...and could you fit them stock on a 94 ranger.. thanks.

edit: reason why i ask if they can fit stock, is due to the wideness of the tire.

Good looking tire that holds up ok on the road and becomes bannana skins in any greasy mud. I had 35" boggers my budy had 40" thornbirds and i could get threw more mudd then him thanks to my tread design. If you want a goodlooking loud road tire then get them if you want a mudd tire get something else.

i just want a more aggressive looking tire, i got general grabbers last year this time and they look alright and do ok in snow but id like a more aggresive look.

edit: when i mean performance in my other post i meant how long the tire lasts for.

Just curious...How many people saying thornbirds suck (everyone here), have actually had them or driven a vehicle equiped with them?

I have gotten stuck in a vehicle with them many times, and watched them become slicks many times over. There is a reason that no one outside the show truck market will tell you to buy them.

If you are looking for good tires in the snow, a mud tire will not do it... They are designed for 2 totally different things.

Edit: I agree with everyone else, a buddy of mine had thornturds on his lifted truck, they didn't do anything well...

I had them for a while. I never got stuck off road with them, although I don't do as heavy offroading as most on the site do. They killed my gas mileage, were noisy as hell, followed every crack in the road, and turned the streets into ice when it rained. In my opinion they suck on road, in everyone elses opinion they suck off road. I would say don't get them.

bad tread design makes it a good street driving tire for show.

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned goodyear MTRs yet. I'll go with those or BFGs (muds or ATs) for my next tires.
