i have 33x10.5 bfg at's, today i noticed one of my sidewalls has split open. didnt hit anything, they just cracked open.

went to the place i purchased them, they confirmed that its werid **** where it split, all the way down to the carcass of the tire.

I guess i have to call bfg and find out what to do.


any of you had an issue like this? if so, what happened? new tire for free or had to pay for it?

How old are your tires? if they a relatively new that should be covered under the manufactures warranty.

Might be a fluke bad carcass...but idk. BFG's are warrenteed to 60k i believe.

 

i will take a photo tomorrow. heres the thing. i went to the place i purchased them and they tried to say i had 4/32nds left on them, i measured them at 5/16, or 10/32. that is plenty of tire. because of what they said was left, i have to pay 75 percent of the cost. the tires are a bit better than 3 years old, probably 36k on them.

the tire dealer i feel is trying to get out from under it without giving me a tire. what do you think?
i will take a photo of tread depth too and you all can make a judgment call, i trust your opinions
