I have an 02 Ranger with the stock ranger 16" wheels on 35s. Double lifted, tires rub up front. I want the Fuel Revolver wheels in 16" but have no idea what offset or backspacing to get. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

3.75 back space, 16x10.

 

Look into an 8” wide rim instead of 10s, 4” BS is OK too.

More than 4” and you will increase the interference when turning.

 

This is the size I am looking at getting from 4wheelparts:

That will have the same backspacing as your stock wheels

I think this is the only size that 4wheelparts sells for the Ranger in this wheel type in a 16". Thanks everyone for the good advice.

The truck double lifted looks a little ridiculous with the stock width wheels. Bought wheel spacers a while back but they were lug centric and made the truck shake really bad! What a waste of money.

 

Just because that is the only Rim they sell for a Ranger doesn’t mean you need to go that way.

Think 15” or 16” Rim… think 5 x 4.5 Bolt pattern (or metric equal) and think 4” max BS.

Order the rim you want based on your specs not what 4 Wheel Parts has in stock or what they get the most profit from.

One thing… also look at the tires you are thinking about running; 16 version of the tire is sure to be a higher load range than the 15” version (if available), so find the tire you want and the load range you want first.
Unless you want a larger rim, i.e. RICER, then stick to the 15: rims for a lower load range on the same tire series.
Higher load range can equal harder ride.

Also, 10” rims stick out further than an 8” rim and will have a wider arc when turning and in turn (lol) will contact the body before an 8” rim. The rim posted is 8” and that is where you should stick, unless there is another reason.

Anyway....back to the topic at-hand. The rim you were looking at is a little on the sucked in side. Inside of the tire will be at the same spot yours are now. Outside of the tire will be an inch outside where they are now. It'll be better than what you've got now, but won't be perfect. Perfect for an 8" rim is 3.5-4" backspace. Perfect for 10" rim is 4" backspace. But on your truck w/ 8" or 10" rim, 3.5-4" is perfect for a 35x12.50 tire.

I understand if you want to keep your tires('cause lord knows they ain't cheap). But it's hard to find a cool wheel like that, a modern looking wheel like that in the specs that are ideal. 15" options are very plentiful....17" is far more plentiful than 16", but still limited. About the only wheels in 16x10 or 16x8 w/ proper backspace are plain jane old school 8-hole alloys.





Here's Eagle 185's... About the most radical looking wheel out there in the specs you should be looking for. They're a hell of alot cheaper than the Fuels you were looking at. They can be had in 16x10 5x4.5 w/ 4.5" backspace. Not perfect, but it'll work and the 10" width would be helping you in stability and overall looks...


Those are what I actually have under mine in 15x10 w/ 3.625" backspace. Here's what borrowed 16x10 w/ 4" backspace looks like on mine...




In all reality, 1/2" isn't much. I think you'll be just fine with 16x10 w/ 4.5" bs.

Is this some kind of joke? Most KOH, Baja, hell most racing trucks run a 17" rim. They are getting to be the most common offroad rim available. I run 16.5x9.75 with 5" backspacing, but I also have wider axles. For a 35x12.50 (315/75) I would run a 10" rim. It will be better on the tire. On a 16x10 4" of backspacing is damn near perfect, a 16x8 you would want 3.75" of backspacing.

Most rangers are easily heavy enough to run load range D tires. I wouldn't run load range C's. The extra ply rating alone is worth the minor amount of discomfort. Hell the load range E radial's I ran were substantially softer than the load range C bias plys I run now.

Changes since pictures posted are raised larger tailpipe changed to a 45° outlet and Flowmaster series 40 muffler. Next mods include new pinion gears (4.88s) if 4wheelparts ever decide to ship them to me..(been 3 weeks now), and wheels. Thanks everyone for your inputs helping me figure out the proper offset wheels.

 

Yeah! Was kind of a joke but decided to keep them on. Makes people look twice at the truck...It would be cool if Ford made King Ranch Rangers wouldn't it?

As tall as mine! lol. Certain angles, double lift trucks look massive. Others, they look minuscule. haha.

 

They are on order, going with the 15x8 Fuel revolver...told me they are being shipped from Seattle. Pics as soon as I get them on the truck, hopefully soon!!!
