Trying to pick what mud tires i want
So I am trying to decide what mud tires I want to buy. I am going to put on a 3 inch body lift and am looking for 285/75/16 tires. Any other suggestions of brands are welcome.

toyos if you can afford it. i would get some 305/70 or 75R16 tires to fill the wheel wells a little better

If you're looking for something good in the snow, check out Cooper STT's. I know a few people who have them and they love them in the snow and mud.

MTZ's i love mine

oh didnt see the thing. BFGs or Toyos

Probably Toyos as long as you stay away from Mud, heard they suck there

+ 1 on the Khumo kl71's. Awesome

Had the cooper STT's and yes they were awesome in the snow and fairly decent in the mud but they wore quickly.

lets not forget the goodyear mtr, its a pricey tire but damn worth the money

Love my STT's i have about 20k on mine...as long as you rotate and take care of them i find mine wear fine, have yet to get stuck

the toyo's are great tires, they are just a bit expensive.

I have put 6-7k miles on these tire and have 16/32" of the brand new 18/32" tread. You should easily be able to put on 40k miles.

True dat. Not got stuck?!?!? ohhh i sure have ....in three feet of snow lol

Another thing to think about Baja Claw=directional=impossible to rotate(need to be remounted every time) and if you don't remount/rotate they will cup bad.

EDIT: Another thing... Cooper (or so i have heard) bought out Mickey Thompson. The STT's and MTZ are made in the same factory. For a 285/75R16 MTZ it was like $190. The bought some 285/75R16 STT's for like $160 a piece.

^^Blackhawk you only really do short trips though. it's only really the long trips and a hot road surface that eats tires. And STT's in 285/75-16 are around $200.

I've got the BFG Mud Terrains right now and they're a good dual purpose. Work really well in mud (no surprise) and do great on sand and hills as well. Also wear pretty slowly. Mine still have around 60% tread after I don't know how many years and I still seldom get stuck in anything.

Just went to Les Schwab and they gave me a quote for $1340.08 mounted and balanced for the Toyo's :/
