So, everyone and there mother around where I live have either the BFG All-terrains or mud terrains. Im a man that likes to be different. Ive seen these tires on a few rigs and they look pretty aggressive...has anyone ran these tires? I plan on doing some sand trails, mud trails, and dirt trails...nothing too intense. I just want a good tire that will grip in any situation...that also has a killer look!!!

 

I know when Travis(L2en) gets his truck back he is putting his Kumho's on he currently has the Goodyear MT/R's

 

The MT/R's were awesome, haven't had a chance to test out the KL71's yet though.

Kumho M/T's are a good tire, I'd say better than my old Cooper STT's and wayyyyy better than Dunlop Mud Rovers so I'm hoping that the tire satisfaction continues with the KL71's. I had Kumho M/T's on my old 79 F-150 and got 40k miles out of them and sold them with almost half tread left. Those were regular M/T's.

BTW, BFG's are a good all around tire but are not all that they're cracked up/hyped up to be IMO.

 

^^^^^^Yeah, I checked out your photbucket page, and the MT/Rs looked siccc on your ranger. Are the expensive? Im looking at getting the 32x11.5x15 size. Were they any good in the sand, dirt and mud, and wet driving?

 

I dunno about much sand, they did okay for the twenty minutes of wheelin I did at Wharton. Mud, trail, and wet street driving they did awesome.

Prices vary depending on where you get them. They're def gonna cost you though. You get what you pay for.

 

I have both MT/R's and BFG's on my truck now cause I got some used tires for cheap. The BFG's are wearing FAST but the MT/R's still look the same as the day I bought them.

 

The guy I got my old set of mt/r's (32x11.50) said they were the best tire he has ever owned. Aparently he blew alot of sidewalls out on the BFG's and decided to go with mt/rs and never had that problem again

 

the MT/R's are expensive ($208 a tire is what I paid 9 ply though) but what good tire isn't. They are by far the best mud tire I have tried and I will likely get them again if I can find a good deal, but that will still be a couple of years at least because they still look brand new and I have been driving with them almost a year. They grip like no other. Whatever you do, don't buy goodyear all-terrain.

 

u just answered my question about tread life, my delima is between the Good Year MTRs, Toyo MT's, Mickey Thompson MTs or Nitto MT :(

then a set of TSLs for the weekeds on the trails, if i can get a good price
