91 Ranger Rims

Im in the market for some new rims for my 1991 ranger 2WD. I am going to install 4WD springs soon. I currently have 30 inch mud tracs that i would like to use instead of the BFG T/A that are on there now on the 14inch rim. I was looking on summit and saw the Crager rims but i know nothing about backspacing etc. What would fit my truck? I know this isnt a suspension thread but would i need anything else to do to fit these. Spacers wheel and spring? Thanx.

the 4wd springs front and rear are the same ones as the 2wd springs that are on your truck, unless you are putting lift springs and even then they are the same as 4wd lift springs.....

wheels you would want prolly a 15x8 with a 5x4.5 bolt pattern and 3.73 backspacing.........if you are getting new wheels, then get 15"....i dont think you can even get a 14" aftermarket wheel...

well my friend has a 92 ranger king cab in which he did a front solid axle build and new full size bronco suspension. He said that the springs would be good for 1.5-2 inches over my current stock suspension. If not what other way would there be to get my truck up? I was saying i have the stock 14s and i am going to get those 15s. Any other suggestions would be great.

nope....the 4wd springs are the same as the 2wd.....the 4x4 TTB rangers get there extra height from the axle beam....the only way to get the extra lift is if they are aftermarket lift springs.....if they are stock Ford parts, then no lift in those.............

if you want to lift the front of your truck, then get a pair of Skyjacker leveling coils....anything over those and you will need new drop brackets for the I beams.....or you could get a body lift....

3" body lift?

I have 235x75x15's (28.8" tires) and they do fit my '91 2wd, but they rub the inner wheel well a little bit when the steering wheel is full lock to the left. An extra 1" would give it full clearance with no rubbing, but still would be low on clearance. That clerance becomes a problem when the tires hit the body's fender if I hit a speed bump really fast.

So to mount 30" tires, I'd say you need at least 2" of lift to fit without rubbing, but at least 3" to get adequate clearance. 4" would make it look better and be safe.

I don't know all that much about the gen2 rangers, but I've seen 3" body lifts in many places. For example here's on on eBay for ~$120 shipped:
