Do I have to upgrade the spare tire too?

I currently have stock tires on my Ranger, I believe they are 245/75R15's. I am wanting to upgrade to 265/75R16's (the same that comes on the Level 2's) and a 16" wheel. Now I currently have a 245/75R16 as my spare, would I need to upgrade it if I wanted to use it with the bigger tires in case I got a flat?

I am wondering because I know the Level 2's have a 31" tire as there spare.

you dont HAVE to but i think it MAY mess up the LSD you have if it goes im back. now techyou could put one from the front in back and put the spare in front IF it would be a prob. but the slight difference may not matter. BTW i have 265's with a stock size spare... i am prob going to upgrade soon if i dont totally just not cary the spare

plus if you get a good tire the chance of getting a unfixable flat is slim you know...

shouldn't hurt anything if used only for a short distance.

Shouldn't hurt, just don't keep it on there. Like said above I'd put the smaller tire on the front. Level II's don't come with a 31" spare. I think mine is a 235/70R16 or something similar.

Actually now that I think of it... Almost all cars and some of the newer Rangers come with the donuts so I don't see why a smaller tire could hurt that much. But if I do ever get a flat all the spare tire would be used for, is driving home then to Canadian Tire so they can fix the flat one.

Also I know the older Level 2's come with a 31" equivalent spare.

Most cars and Rangers don't come with a limited slip diff though. That's the only reason I'd out the smaller one on the front.
I'm surprised the older Level II's had a 31" spare. I didn't think it would fit since they all come with a hitch. If it'll fit I should change mine up to a 31" spare to have something a little closer to my actual tire size.

Even if it doesn't have an LSD it will still not be a great idea to run the spare in the back. The mini spares destroy alot of transmissions on the FWD cars. Its just like your doing a burnout ALL the time. Not a good idea for long term, like weeks and weeks and stuff. But getting you home, or to a tire store you will be fine.
