Wheel HELP! Greatly appretiated

Okay guys kind of a stupid question for some but im having a slight problem.

My uncle is getting rid of his explorer and asked if i wanted to switch wheels and tires. I have the 5 spoke 15in. rims and he has some 16in. tear drop rims. The tires that are on his are newer than the ones on mine. My question is should i trade for different rims with possibly better tire tread or not? I kind of like my current rims but i would like a little feedback/advice.

1. My current rims, not the tires:

2. Rims he has:

2000 XLT 4D Ext Cab TORCH RED and BLACK
Brush Guard, Nightshaded Tails and Blinkers, Painted Stock Wheels, Sunroof, Leer Tonneau

Keep what you have. Plus when you go to buy new tires, it will cost you less if you have the 15's.
