i have a 02 4.0 ranger I want either 33's or 35's on the stock wheels wich will fit anyone have pics? I do not want to add a body lift or anything I dont know what the deal is for the t-bar never looked into it. I Am on a budget....due to the fact that I also own a 1987 iroc camaro that is hevly modded and will be undergoing a huge transplant in the neer futuer

but so in summery
~can the 33's or 35's fit on the stock 16'' wheel?

with a t-bar crank(if you have them) you'll be able to fit 33's and can get the size tires you need to fit on stock wheels. 35's aren't going to fit without some sort of lift. i'm sure someone will post pics of 33s on stock wheels and t-bar cranked, but i'm lifted on 33s.

It raises the front end, but it stiffens the ride a little and increases wear some. There are adjusters for the torsion bars if you have torsion bars. 4x4's and Edges/Sports in 4x2 have torsion bars -- particularly in the extended cab versions. If you can't find coils under the front of your truck, you have the torsion bars.

35's on 7" width stock rims will probably wear funny. Generally 8.5" width or larger are recommended for typical 12.5" wide 33's and 35's. 8" works -- I've run 35's on 8" rims -- but they won't be quite right on 7's for sure. The exception would be narrower 33's like the 10.5" wide 33's that are available.

33x10.50x15 BFG Muds....love mine and wearing better than my factory 31x10.50x15 bfg all terrains. Only problem is you have a 16 inch rim and I'm at work so I can't simply bring up my BFG tire size file to see what works for the 16 inch rim. 33x12.50s will most likely rub at full turning wheel lock and have been known to wear unevenly down the center tread. Thus, most go with the 33x10.50s as they fit with no rubbing and will wear properly on 7 or 8 inch wide rims.

 

Mo, what kind of driving will you be doing? What's most important to you? Like, offroad or onroad. I use Mickey Thompson MTZ's because they are good in the mud but still well mannered on the street and especially in the rain where many mud tires get weird.

 

im going to be using it on mostly street(its my DD) but there i know of a few trails around my house that im going to go on

 

Well, a good all-terrain is what you probably want. A lot of folks like the BFG AT/KO, but there are good AT's from virtually every manufacturer including the specialty ones like Mickey Thompson, Dick Cepek, Interco, and so forth.

 

You can also fit a 32x11.50 on there with no rubbing at all if you don't mind going a little smaller. Just remember that after the t-bar crank, you need to get an alignment.

Ha ha! Dream on, my brother! The more capability you get on your truck, the more you take on when offroading -- and then you get stuck anyway, lol.

32's really are a nice size on a Ranger. Big enough to be useful and stand out, but small enough to fit without modification overall. You only lose a 1/2 inch of ground clearance using a 32 vs.a 33.

 

if ya dont want to spend money on the truck. just put a factory size or the next size up offroad tire when the time comes for new tires... bigger tires=spend more on gas, you should regear it, speedo will be off....

but i got 33x10.5x15 BFG A/T's sittin in my back yard waiting to go on the factory rims, ill get a picture up once they are mounted

 

My advise would be to get 265/75/16 (32" 10.5")in whatever tire you want since you don't plan on lifting it any.

I think some guys have fit 285/75/16 (33" 11.5") without a lift but I would think you would have some rubbing at full lock.

33s are the only choice for you. and once you put big tires your gonna want a lift congrats your only gonna spend more and more money lol.

 

I cranked mt t-bars all the way and add add-a-leafs($40ish) and Chevy drop shackles($60ish) and have a set of 32x11.50's. Gives you some bigger tires and a couple inches of lift pretty cheap.

 

285/75 16s (33x11 or around there) on stock wheels:





Pro-comp is one of the few tire makers that spec their 285/75 16s to fit the stock 7'' wheel. Most of the other tires say 7.5 and up.

yes but, this shows that 33's will fit on stock wheels.

edit: 33's will fit your truck but they will rub. 265/75 16s would be your best option.

3" body lift, t-bar crank, and i ditched my 2.5" blocks for 2" shackles. I'm fittin 35x15.5s on a 15x10" rim. The guy at the tire shop hates me.

They rub at full crank up against the torsion bars, frame, and cab corners. Who cares tho, they were only 100 bucks for the set.

You lost an inch and a half of rear lift when you did that. If you thrash it, you will have some SERIOUS rub that will damage your tires or fender. Ask Bryanjints about it.

2" shackles give only an inch of lift. When you ditched your blocks, what did you do for bumpstops since you lost them when you lost the blocks?

"Fitting" 35's and having useable 35's for anything but street use are two different animals, lol.

 

i rather have good functioning 31-33s then 35's that dont work well ... like why do sumthing and do it wrong?
