What will work with a lift on my truck?
I am going to ask the age old question of what size tire will fit on my truck if I lift it. I am going to be cheap and get a 3 in body lift off ebay for my birthday which includes bumper brackets. It is like $130 and it is from summit. Can I fit 33"s on my 99 2wd Ranger or would I have to go 32"s? Would it look really weird if I ran my stock 235s for a while with a 3 in lift?

How about a 3 inch and 31's. I really don't want to have to change gears if I don't have to. I know I can get a set of 31's cheaper than 33's.
When I get a chance, I am going to call my local salvage yards about the explorer rear ends and how much they want. There are a ton at my favorite place. They also have a Fx4 Ranger I think last time I went.

^^^^ you have a much newer truck
if you want to run 33s this is what i would do i have a 94 4x4 granted i am lifted 2 more inches in the front but still i would find a 4x4 truck in a junk yard and get the coils off it it and then get 2 inch coil spacers and the blocks from the back, then i would find an explore axle and get the leaf springs off the it and covert the axle to over sprung this will give you a decent lift for a cheap price maybe 200 bucks. then put you body lift on.
2 inches from the 4x4 coils
2 inches from the lift blocks
-
4 inches for the front
2 inch blocks
2 inches from the leaf springs
-
4 inches
then your body lift
your truck will look sweet and you will have plenty of room for 33s
then regear to 4.88 or 4.56 and you should get a l.s from the explore axle
a couple hundred bucks and you will have a nice lifted 2wd truck

So? That doesn't make a difference its still gonna look close to the same. He can't go and get 4x4 coils since the 4x4s of his year had torsion bars. Do some more learning before you give out advice, you have a totally different suspension than he does.
