sister got me set of 17X9 crome rims, offset 1.6 mm, her boyfriend works at tire store and he got cheap on trade in. I have an 05 xlt ext. cab 4x4. What would be the largest tire I could use with only tbar crank and no trimming? Could not find thread about this. Thanks all for the help

 

I had 265-70-17 on my 99 4x4, with no tbar crank and i never noticed it rubbing anything

they were on f150 rims with adapters, so the backspacing was something around 3.25" IIRC

definitely 32's, some people fit 33's but most have to trim or rub.

I have seen the other threads but I am not certain about the offset (what it means), I have not seen that mentioned with the offset that is on these rims.

 

1.6mm offset? that is almost dead center... so if the wheel is 9" wide then the hub is only 1.6mm off from center.

backspacing is somewhere around 4.5" stock backspacing on ranger wheels is 4.5" but they are only 7" wide

 

so does that mean I would have to space them out 1" for the inside of the tire to be at the same location as the stock tire is? or what would the chance of rubing without the spacer. Sorry for all the stupid questions but don't know my butt from a hole in the ground about this, am very mechanical but just stupid. Thanks all

 

honestly i dont know how close the stock wheel is to the spindle and i have no local truck to look at to tell you. what i would do is get them, test fit then buy the spacer that you will need if any
