Hello all! Here is my 97 4wd 4.0 auto. 1500 bucks to work with. What would you go with if it was yours? Thanks for your opinions!

There is a kit out there for a solid axle swap.
35" tires.
Lift enough for the tires.
4.88 gears with 35" tires, 4.56 with 33's.
LED Lights
V-8, 5.0 W.
Manual transfer case
New flares
Rims

Sounds like that would be a nice rig, but I think you might have seen an extra 0! :knockedou Thanks for the reply, though!

Agreed, he said $1,500... not $15,000.

RLong31 03-01-2015 09:25 AM

Assuming it runs great.. I would maybe do a body lift and new tires/rims and get some 06+ mirrors and get rid of those ugly flag mirrors.

Scrambler82 03-01-2015 09:29 AM

Sorry bout dat !

Wasn't thinking money just what to do.

What Rlong31 said will work.

schrisley23 03-01-2015 10:34 AM

Haha, thanks, yes, she runs good. 146000 miles. Not perfect, going to need a headliner but I can get the interior after I get the exterior where I want it.

Nice truck!

I would do a body lift with some 33s. Then if you have funds leftover get a tuner for a little more power and to fix your speedometer for the bigger tires.

Thinking bout this tire package. 4Wheel Drive Hardware Part ADD33PCTXMT2STLTJ-4 - Pro Comp Xtreme MT2 Tire and Pro Comp Wheel Package - Set of 4 - Fits 1987 to 2006 Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited - 4 Wheel Drive 3 inch body lift (PA853) MAYBE some nerf bars and a tuner.

redranger04g 03-03-2015 12:02 AM

Those would look good and work very well with a body lift.

Tuner > Nerf Bars

Actually you might not be able to change the speedometer with a tuner. I'm pretty sure the 97s have VSS system, and I have no clue how those can be calibrated.

schrisley23 03-03-2015 12:43 AM

Any tuner recommendations, then?
