Cons of a Body Lift?

Hey everyone,
I am getting some new 265/75R16 tires pretty soon and would like to add a small body lift, like 2in. I know I can fit 265 stock but I would like my truck to sit up a bit higher. I know some of you guys hate body lifts and some love them. I would just like to know the cons of them. What does it hurt if anything?
Thanks,
Chris

For one there is no 2" BL only the 3" one and the only one I know of is a Performance Accessories BL. The only con really is the gap you will see and the frame that will be exposed. I beat my truck and I have a BL and I have no problem with it.

Yeah I just looked and realized they only made 3in kits. If I was to get one I would get gap guards so the frame wouldnt be as exposed.

Yes gap guards and step bars that are mounted to the cab. I have 33's, so you don't see the space anymore:)

You could make a 2 inch body lift with hockey pucks.
I may do this when i get my 4x4.
Still unsure about it tho.

I think I will stick to an actual body lift, there not to expensive. The going rate I have seen is about $150 for a 3in lift for a 99. Does that sound right?

Next question... Am I going to have to extend anything because of the lift?
Thanks,
Chris

I'm not very knowledgable of the late model rangers but on mine all we did was move a parking brake cable up, and used the brackets to move the radiator shroud down and the steering extension. Also I had to take off the shifter boot and shroud since it wouldnt shift into 2nd 4th or reverse after the lift. got a different style boot at autozone for 10 bucks and it looks fine
