half false half true. ok heres the low down. on the late 03+ they did up the rotor size you CAN NOT fit stock 15" wheels because of how they are mechined. BUT you can fit aftermaket wheels with a wider offset. the slope on the inside is greater and it doesnt rub at all i mean its damn close but they dont. and the only STOCK 15" wheel you can run is the alcola wheel

logan03CO 07-09-2005 01:59 PM

Alright cool...I assume your talking about the backspacing of the wheel? I don't suppose you know what backspacing is needed to not hit anything???

Nope nope nope. Uhh I'll change what I said if its confusing.

Never will your axle sping at a different speed as your tires. It is physically attached to your tires with bolts, and will spin at the exact same speed. When you put bigger tires on a truck, it takes less revolution of the tire to go the same distance as your smaller tire. So if one person driving 29 inch tires drives for *1 mile of distance on his speedo* and a person with 33 inch tires drives *1 mile of distance on his speedo* the guy with 33s will be some distance farther. Therefore, if you have larger than stock tires, your speedometer will be under a few miles per hour.

Sorry, I don't know what I was thinking when i said the axle and tires rotate at a different speed, they're exactly the same, and if they're going diff speeds, you broke some **** badly!

:stupid:

my 15x10s fit perfect about a half inch all the way around doesnt rub. and i have the larger rotors on my 03 4x4

On the rims - you have to check your brakes. Alotta times people think just because it came with stock 16's that have to stay with 16's or bigger. SOMETIMES even though you have 16" stock rims on, "FORD" may have just put brakes to fit in 15" stock rims. But in fact all you have to do is check your brakes and go from there.

AFAIK its only the 92-96/7 f-series and broncos :-p

my rims fit fine 15x10 and what was all that about manually changing the speedo. anyone have any idea what he was talking about or was he using a tuner.

logan03CO 07-10-2005 05:56 PM

I assume you need to use a tuner to change it...could be wrong..but I think it's all controlled my a computer...

Red_Ak_Ranger 07-10-2005 07:29 PM

You hafta go to Ford to get your speedo changed. I think a long time ago someone said it costs about 80 bucks.
