Ranger 1" Body Lift Supplies?

I'm going to be embarking on a one inch body lift. I finally made up my mind and am dead set on it. I know I'm gonna need the body spacers(#?, i forgot), longer bolts. I just did the bumper mod and with a 1" body lift the bumper will have a 1 1/2" gap afterwards. Which is 1/8" more than the gaps on the sides before I lifted the bumper up. No biggie. Same deal with the rear end. I can live with it. The shifters should be fine just an inch lower, correct? I should be okay with all my hoses and lines right? I know gumby and casfz1 have done it, so it's possible. Thanks in advance for helping me with my questions.

Oh yeah, anyone wanna help? lol Maybe I'll drive out to Mich, they seem to be old pro's at bodylifting.

Chad got his one inch blocks from EBAY if I remember correctly. The longer bolts you will have to talk to him and Gumby about. There was nothing that needed to be touched with the one inch other that lifting the bed and body. Come on over to MI we will hook ya up.

gumby 10-01-2006 07:07 PM

yup, blocks(12) and bolts. thats it. no hose extensions, no ground extensions, no fan shroud clearencing, nuthin.
my shifter hit the factory cup holder in the 02. no issue in the 03, but i had an ex.console in there, so no cup holder to hit. chekc you shifter, and clearence as needed.

get on AIM....

how much would a 1" bl cost

ScottG 10-01-2006 07:11 PM

sticky!

2WD_Ranger 10-01-2006 07:27 PM

use hockey pucks and drill holes with some longer bolts from the hardware store hole lot cheaper and the same thing

I like to do things the right way =]

gumby 10-01-2006 07:29 PM

since this is a sticky now, i pulled out my stock bolts and re-measured for everyone.

been a while, but i think the bolts i used were
(2) 12x1.75x90mm
(2) 12x1.75x110mm
(6) 12x1.75x130mm
(2) 12x1.75x150mm

these numbers are ~30mm longer than the stockers.
dont forget washers. i used 1/2" washers, they are cheaper. fender washers in the bed.

price? estimte?

casfz1 10-01-2006 10:02 PM

I have about $50.00 in mine between the mounts and the bolts. you can get the body mount off of ebay for $2.00 each.
Here is the link for them on ebay:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BODY-...3285QQtcZphoto

When ordering them make sure you buy the ones that are 3"s wide not 2"s. the link above is for the right ones.

as gumby said make sure you get large fender washers for the bed bolts or they will pull through the bed.

so these are full replacements or stacked on oem bushings?

casfz1 10-01-2006 11:17 PM

They stack on the oem, no different then doing a 3" body lift just smaller mounts.

speaking of OEM bushings. does anyone know where to get replacement ones? i've been considering swapping my bl for a suspension.

Qouted from Gumby

"yup, blocks(12) and bolts. thats it. no hose extensions, no ground extensions, no fan shroud clearencing, nuthin."

redranger4.0 10-05-2006 09:08 AM

I just picked up a set of 1.25" aluminum pucks myself. got them for $20 off TRS.

MonsterGuy 10-05-2006 10:24 AM

I want to do this too...I wonder how easy it would be though? I've never done a BL but I have plenty of extra hands!

And is there any way at all to raise the bumpers? Could I order the bumper brackets from a 3" kit and make it work somehow (modify or just use at lowest setting)?

If you lift your truck body even 1", you will have trouble with your transfer case shift lever hitting the bezel and the plastic stiffener inside the leather boot. I'm not saying it's impossible but you would need to make some kind of change. Install a different shift boot, cut up the stock bezel, reduce the shifter throw or do something else to keep them from interfering.

casfz1 10-05-2006 07:39 PM

I went to a local nut and bolt store, they cost me somewhere around $20. If you do this make sure you get large fender washers for the bed bolts and smaller wahers for the rest of the bolts.

is everything ok with an automatic? any lengthining of stuff i see the manual needs something done to it a little?

casfz1 10-05-2006 08:46 PM

I have a auto and have no problems.
