Thinking of doing body lift??

I was thinking of putting a body lift in my truck but i want some opions on people who have em. I wanted to know if they creak when you drive around and does the truck feel top heavy and loose?is it worth installing yourself or have someone do it?
thanks everyone

It's too easy when you have the right tools.

Use a torch to heat up the cab bolts, they come out like butter. Also use an impact. Don't do any of the stupid stuff the instructions tell you, it's useless, like the filler neck extension was not needed for mine, ground cable extenders, etc.

Just do the bed/cab/bumpers/steering extension...oh and gap guards!

I didn't know you had that much lift!

I missed that

Anyways, it made a huge difference on my truck...huge difference. It's kinda hard to jump up into. And I have MAJOR fender gap, I prolly have 6" between the tires/fenders, maybe a little tiny bit less

looks good im deff going to do it after x-mas. I have the bars cranked 1 1/2 turns back from full crank. I had a 3'' block stacked on a 2'' block welded together. I took them out it was the worst. The pinon angle was off so i put just the 3'' in it only then when i have time do the aal to bring it up a little more. do you know the part # from summit for the aal?

I will post pic of my truck tommorow i only have pics of my mustang thats all Name: stang.jpg

Body lifts are easy. I had never done any "real work" on my truck when I went to do my Body Lift. I had a friend of my dad's help me do it. He had access to a Hydralic lift so it made things real easy when we had to get underneath. As for doing the install, it's easy. Just take some bolts up, lift things up and then place blocks in. Hardest part about it was that they sent me 2 right brackets for my front bumper mounts, so the guy helping me just cut the mounted bolts out and MIG'd them in opposite to make a left bracket.

Oh, and I didn't raise the rear bumper. Just didn't feel like it and never got back to it.

I did have to use the filler neck on mine. Pretty sure there was no way that baby was going to reach, but that was still easy. Just cut it, stick pipe in, clamp it down, and bolt it up.

just do it, for 3" and $160-180 u cant beat it... the 500 isnt worth it unless u have money to blow, its a fun little job, just make sure u line up the bed and cab b4 u tighten the bolts down.. i didnt and its annoying me bc i notice stuff like that..

good luck man
get us some pics, what size tires r u gonna run?

I have a 3 inch body lift and love it. Cheap lift. I can not even tell it is on there. I have 33's on my stock rims and it handles fine.
