Hopefully you guys can help me make my mind :15:

or if yours is 2wd, you could just go with a spindle lift?

SilverBulletXLT 06-20-2005 07:53 PM

4= yes
2= no

are you planning to wheel? upgrade tire size?

yellerEDGEchick 06-20-2005 07:56 PM

i say no...but i just dont like the way they look...

Even though those are'nt the greatest pics, I dont see much frame.....Do you?

SilverBulletXLT 06-20-2005 09:30 PM

Those rims and tires really complete the look.. nice truck, Mark!

TippnOver 06-20-2005 09:32 PM

do u have to do any extensions with a 3 inch bl?

like steering, brake lines, etc?

got-dirty 06-20-2005 09:39 PM

only ententions on ranger are the steering shaft, which is included in the kit, and the manual shifter extention which is bought seperately.

Ive yet to buy the gap gaurds, but once i do, it wont be noticible at all. I see stock blazers and other chevys drivin around with more frame showing than a b/l'd ranger/ Id say do it, it gives you room for bigger tires, which gives you more ground clearance. and give your tires more room to move before rubbin.

Yah, for us 4x4s suspension/BL = $2300/$150. I wouldn't waste my money lifting a 2WD truck unless I go the whole way, and make it badass looking.

i dont care if i had 4x4 or 2wd...i would never have no lift at all over a body...

034x4 06-20-2005 10:29 PM

I have a body lift and I have no problems with it at all.

Draimen 06-20-2005 10:36 PM

besides them breaking lol

Broken so far...

2 3" lift blocks.

Nah I dont know people are so against them, no they are not a sus. lift but damn some people cant afford $2000+ for 4 inches.

Lumadar 06-21-2005 02:22 AM

I don't know about you guys, but I can spot a body lift EVERY time..with or without suspension, and with or without gap guards. It's just a pet peeve of mine I guess...but if you have a 4WD I can understand. However, if you have a 2wd and don't have spindles yet, save up a bit longer FOR SURE.

I would to but I can't afford a $1300 suspension lift but I can afford a $200 body lift.

Ranger1 06-21-2005 05:42 AM

I like them and have thought about getting one for a while now.

gatorblue92 06-21-2005 05:49 AM

they are okay if you have a suspention lift along with it

zabeard 06-21-2005 06:32 AM

:stupid:

but 200$ is a lot better than 2300, and ive heard no complaints about the body lift from the people that have them.

TippnOver 06-21-2005 06:41 AM

theres no squeeking or anything with them?

thats another concern i would hvewhen buyig one...

blckout 06-21-2005 06:49 AM

im just not a fan of BLs either...... just dont like emm.

$2050 for my RCD 5" 4x4 Suspension Lift :biggrin

Those are the blocks that lift the rear end, b/t leaf spring and axle.

Not the body lift blocks.

Mason 06-21-2005 07:38 AM

Thanks for all the replies!

It's a 01 4x4 edge. I go wheeling 5 or 6 times a month. I have to deside weather to lift or not befor I buy my new tires/rims.

If I do go with a lift what brand name do you all suggest. And are the poly bushings worth it? I hear they squeek alot.

Ranger1 06-21-2005 07:53 AM

the only BL I know of is performance assocories summit has them for $200, I am thinking maybe I can find one at a 4 wheel jam for less maybe $150. The bloomsburg 4 wheel jam is July 9.

zabeard 06-21-2005 09:34 AM

idk sounds like the body lift will work great for u. but then agian i off-road very little and i want the RCD suspension lift.

Rangerboy03lvl2 06-21-2005 10:08 AM

well lets see, I have had a body lift on mine for some time, no squeaks or anything from mine, i made my own gap gaurds, cost me a total of 5 bucks + my time. its a great lift for the 4x4 guys if you dont have the money for a suspension.

For everyone that HATES them, thats fine, your opinion, I hated them too because before i did mine and i saw a bl on other trucks i hated seeing the frame! but our rangers with a 3 inch bl show less frame than a stock chevy or dodge.

I had gotten TONS of compliments on my body lift, people are like is that stock? nope just a 3 inch body lift, their response was BODY? DAMN that is the nicest body lift i have seen.

Id say go for the body lift, they are cheap, will give your truck the extra clearnce for the bigger tires.

and then maybe someday down the road, you can have enough money for a suspension so everyone stops *****ing about the body lift that hates them here.

you can even keep the bl on like me and run even bigger tires that people with just suspension lifts.

I hate close minded people!

As far as Body lift brands, performance accesories is the only one i know of, it is a very good kit, gives you everything you will need, bumpers, extensions, and of course the body.
For suspension lifts, the 2 major brands that i know of are SuperLift which is a 4 inch lift, and the RCD lift which is a 5 inch lift, but turns it into a coil over spring rather than keeping the stock torsion bars.

Anyways good luck, and CANT NOT wait to see your decision on your lift :)
