planning on building my own body lift kit and just need to know how many lift blocks i need ,any more info would be great too. thanks

 

your going to need six for the cab and six for the bed. You'll also need and extension for your steering column, brackets to relocate your radiator back to stock height after lift, shift extentesion if you have a manual, a way to lengthen your gas tank filler hoses, and brackets to relocate your bumpers.

 

you can get the body mounts off ebay for $2.00 to $3.00 apiece, thats what I did for my 1". If you are going to be doing a 3" bodylift I would just buy a kit it would be so much easier and maybe even cheaper.

i was thinking just doing a two inch bodylift, there was a thread on here a little while ago that had an example of spacers that a guy had welded up himself. I have the materials nesseary and the welding ability, plus a plasma cutter for any bracketry that i'll need so i think i have that taken care of. also i heard from someone that for only two inch lifts you don't need extensions for your steering column, and filler hose. and the fan would just require trimming of the shroud. is there any truth to this?

 

just do the 3" for what you get from the $200 you can not biuld it. anything under 2" is highly pointless, run a AAL and max the T-bars if you just want an 1" or two

and yes you will need a steering extention even for 1" otherwise it will cause binding

 

Or you could buy a 3inch and shave the blocks down an inch if you have you heart set on a 2inch b/l.

this i agree with. if your gonna do 2" jus get the kit and do 3" all the stuff is there, and ready. makin it all isnt worth the hassle
this i dont agree with.
my bars were already maxed and i dont like the look of 33"s on only a t-bar crank. wheel well looks too full, IMO. but i liked the wheel gap w/my 32"s so 1" BL was what i needed to keep the same look and run 33" tires.
you dont need a steering extension. there is plenty of extra in the slip yoke for a 1" BL. i wouldnt do it this way for a 2"er though.
