2.3l spark plug disaster

Okay about three months ago I was driving into town from where I live and my truck shot a spark plug out of I think it was the number three cylinder and I turned around figured out what it was got a spark plug and put it back in I was able to use my same plug wire it all went on I didn't have to buy anything additional I had an extra plug laying around. Now lately I've noticed my truck has been running rough I open up the Hood to find the old spark plug not the threaded part just the ceramic part had landed on my number three fuel injector melted the wires a little bit they don't look like they had ground out or touched each other but the plastic like clip part of the injector is a little melted I'm wondering do I buy a whole new injector do I buy a whole new injector plus wires it seems to run okay maybe a slight misfire. I've never seen or heard of anything this unfortunate happening with the spark plugs that exited the motor please tell me what you guys think I will try to attach photos
