So I read the Previous 2.5 with 2.3 head build and was intrigued. So much so in fact that I'm jumping in with both feet. Finding a crankshaft replacement for the 2.3 proved near impossible. They still advertise that crank but believe me they aren't out there or easily found.
So I'm Buying a 2.5 2016 motor with 87k next week. Here is the question. I've read several articles where the balancer in the 2.5 is deleted on many forums Mazda, Focus and Ranger. The idea is to have the 2.5 short block with crank and pistons without the balancer. Add the 2.3 Flex plate and harmonic balancer a intake runner adaptor and bolt her in. I'm thinking I may have the bottom end rotationally balanced (Internally) before installation. Balance delete kits are sold commonly for the 2.5.
Experiences positive or negative? Other ideas?
My block will be the 2.5 Fusion short block, the 2.3 head will be from a 2006 Ranger. Flex plate, Harmonic Balancer, ECU and fuel rail will be from the 2.3.
Thanks in Advance.
