My 1998 ranger was put on computer because it started sputtering when you start it up and when you stop at lights etc the diagonostic said #3 fuel injector was bad is that a big deal to replace on my own? iam an electrician not a mechanic lol but iam sure if i take it in it will cost and arm and leg

It is just wrench work but take lots of pictures of hoses and wiring connectors BEFORE you remove them
Ford fuel injector should show 11 to 18ohms if it is good, and it will click open if you apply 12v and ground in either direction, it is just a solenoid so no polarity
Once you get access, test #2 and #3 injector's ohms to make sure #3 is bad, if they are the same then could have been just a loose connection
Fuel injectors are loose, not squeezed down tight, so you can turn them a bit to get access for testing
