99 Ford Ranger not starting

Hi, I've posted this here before but imma do it again but with more detail. I have a 1999 Ford Ranger 2.5 L inline 4, with a manual transmission. I was driving home a few weeks ago, and when I pulled into the apartment complex, it seemed like my alternator just died. I had an electrical surge and my dash lights dimmed and the car stuttered and then it packed back up again. I could also smell a burning plastic smell in the cabin. I parked, and sat there for a minute. Also my voltage was lower than normal. I shut it off and decided I'd go into work tomorrow to test the alternator (I work at autozone.) The next morning when I went to go start it, it'd turn, and turn and turn, but not actually start. I have oil pressure when trying to start it, my radio works and wiper blades and lights. I pulled the battery out, brought it to work, tested it. Tested good, 100% charged up. Brought it back and installed the battery, and you could still smell the plastic smell.

Next day I tested all the fuses, they are all good.

Earlier today, I changed the ignition switch, and this is what it does....(sorry for potatoe quality)

Like in the video, the abs, check engine, airbag, parking brake, and battery light are all very dim, but pulsing slightly. You can't make it out in the video well, but you can see my other electronics working. And still you can smell the plastic smell.

Things I've changed on the car before:
Mass air flow sensor
New ground cable(now going to the block)
Tps sensor
Iac valve

Some people think it's fuel pump, others think it's alternator. But to my knowledge, an alternator won't prevent you from starting. Another thinks it's the computer, which To me, makes the most sense. Thank you for reading and any input is appreciated.
