Accelerator spring or stretched throttle cable

On my '99 when I barely put pressure on the gas pedal, it falls slightly and has difficulty engaging the passing gear. I have noticed that the cable by the throttle body has stretched some, if this is the problem; how can I tighten it back up? Or could I have a accelerator pedal problem? Thanks for the help.

Google: Ranger throttle cable mod

Very common issue, and very easy to fix with a few Zap straps, at the gas pedal end of the cable

Thanks Ron D, can this mod be done in the cab verses on the engine? I've seen other trucks do this, but weren't Ford Rangers.

Thank you sir, that was my first guess; but sought the knowledge of one more experienced than myself.
