Code P0420

Manifold cat effciently low (Bank 1). So I guess my cat is breaking apart inside (Least it sounds like that). I been pricing a stock replace one and they all are about $370 bucks. I ran into some universal ones from magnaflow that was about $80. Anyone ran one? I dont want to run without a cat and really dont want to spend dang near $400 bucks for one. Plus stupid check engine light drives me nuts.

I've used Magnaflow cats on my old Mustang and never had any problems. I've also ran into that code before (on a high mileage truck) and replaced the cat and o2 sensors just to make sure I wouldn't have to do the job twice, just to find out that the gas I was buying was setting the code. After all new parts were installed the code would show up only when I stopped at that one gas station, that I don't go to any more.
